Travels in the Greek and Roman World is aimed at those who are interested in Greek and Roman antiquities (their history, culture, archaeology), and in travelling around the Mediterranean world (especially mainland Greece, the Greek islands, Cyprus, Sicily, and Turkey).

The materials in this Blog represent a record of my own Mediterranean travels, illustrated by photographs (my own, unless otherwise credited), with a frequent focus on the ancient world and the traces left by it.

It is designed to be a colourful compendium of the sights, sites, experiences, flora, fauna, and any other variety of stimulus that has caught my attention. I hope it is both enjoyable and informative – or, dulce et utile, as the Latin poet Horace would say.
